Why do you not use your local library for help with your homework?

Most libraries in the UK offer free internet access as well as reference and lending books on all subjects. In my Authority, all libraries have twice weekly Homework Zones with dedicated helpers. In libraries that don't have dedicated workers, the library staff have been helping young people with their homework since libraries began!Why do you not use your local library for help with your homework?
Because our local library is crap. It has shelves of Mills and Boon but very little else! The computers are right near the children's section and it is impossible to concentrate because of the noise the little brats make! You are also limited to one hour a day on the computer. Once you get onto serious study, that is not enough.



The library only does things with the tiny kids. No homework clubs etc. here!



I would love to have a decent library but it is not going to happen - but a few useful books would be nice!

Our junior school insist they use it for school projects and most schools do have their own librarys in Seniors.Why do you not use your local library for help with your homework?
1. Food and drink is in the fridge at home

2. You never see cute girls in the libraries (they tend to study in their bedrooms)

3. You can't chat in a library as much as a friend's house.



Who needs a library? The internet is a better substitute for those dusty books - beside you never find what you want in a library.
I agree, I would study in the library, there is much less distraction and no temptation to watch tv or whatever. But I don't have a car and my parents won't just drop me off in the library so that's not an option for me!
Many, many years ago, when I was at school, I always dreaded homework when you had to get a book out of the library to do it. Some bugger always beat me to the village's library and there was nothing left of relevance.
thats true, bu tyou can be kicked out of the library. and there are soo many other resources at home.
Well most homes in the UK now have a pc.

Therefore why should people make the effort to go to the library when you can sit in the comfort of your own home.

In the library near me, all the little children come in the library after school. There parents probly cant afford computers, so they let their children hog the computers inside the library.

It was homework club, and i had really important coursework to do, and the 4 computers were being used. 2 of them by little boys who were playing games. And that was ment to be a homework club ?

I dont personally think libraries are great, and the staff.

Much prefer to do any work at home.
