What are the advantages of library book scanners?

How do they help the library with its information handling needs and what's so good about them?

Thankyouu (:What are the advantages of library book scanners?
HP have a nice inexpensive scanner with a special opening for books. The advantage this has is that it allows the pages to remain flat on the glass and get a good clean scan.

Here is a model of a book scanner.

If you are referring to a barcode library book scanner, this helps the librarian in knowing what she has in her libraries. A person can just give her the author or the ame of the book and she can get the info in seconds.
