On the iMac, go to System Preferences-%26gt;Sharing and enable file sharing. On the Macbook, go to Network, click on your iMac, and log in. Find your Music folder and copy the whole thing over to the Music folder on the Macbook.

How do I move the music from my iMac library to my new, empty Macbook library?
I just got a Macbook pro. I want to copy the music from my iMac to my laptop. I turned on the sharing, and I can now access my library from my iMac from a section in iTunes called "Shared" (on left bar, above "Genius" under "Store"). Yes, I am able to listen to the music, but when I select all 977 songs I have, I'm not able to drag them to my Music Library on my laptop.How do I move the music from my iMac library to my new, empty Macbook library?
