How can I get my entire iTunes library off of my computer to reformat, then be able to put all of it back on?

My computer really needs to be reformatted and I just want to delete everything you know but I don't want to lose my iTunes library. But the problem is that I dont know where all the files used in the library are located in my computer. It is really unorganized and I dont know how to get them all to one place. Is there a way to find them all? And then how can I take the iTunes from my computer and put it back on after I reformat? I hoped my iPod could just transfer the files for me, but I heard that it wouldn't work that way. One more thing, I am NOT going to take the time to burn everything to CD's and put them back on the computer later. That would take months, and way more money than I have. Please help, I dont want to lose all my music! How can I get my entire iTunes library off of my computer to reformat, then be able to put all of it back on?
Unless you have a burner or backup hard drive, there isn't much else you can really do.
