How to tell people to be quiet in the library?

In my college library we have one level that is supposed to be completely silent. I am trying to work on a paper, and can not concentrate if people around me are talking, especially if they are whispering which is more distracting I think than regular talking. How do I politely tell them to stop. I am ready to snap at them. How to tell people to be quiet in the library?
This is where you need a gun carrying Republican - LOL
We have that at my school, too, and usually people adhere to that rule very strictly (it's the fifth floor, which is also the top floor, so if you made the effort to go all the way up there you have no reason to be talking). I would just politely say "excuse me guys, this level of the library is supposed to be silent and I'm trying to study, so could you please stop talking or move to another floor?". Maybe if there's other students around who are also trying to study, you could get additional support from them if they also seemed annoyed by it (strength in numbers, lol). How to tell people to be quiet in the library?
If it's specifically a silent floor, there is no need to get all worried about politeness here. No, you don't want to be rude, but you don't need to get all worried, either. Just say, "This is the silent floor guys, and I'm trying to study. Thanks."
Do the classic librarian move. A loud husshhhh ! Or ask them to please go to another section if the library. Cleverest thing to do is point to a sign that says no talking .

Good luck !How to tell people to be quiet in the library?
You tell them your trying to do your work could they please be silent or you can move some where else. They have a right to whisper in there as they may be doing a group assignment which requires team work.
Just explain that you are working on a paper and if they would please take their convorsation elsewhere.
Been there, you can't now a days. It's allowed.

How do I put iPod touch apps into my Library?

I want to put applications from my iPod INTO the library. Not the other way around. But how?How do I put iPod touch apps into my Library?
When you connect iPhone or iPod touch to your computer, items are automatically synced according to your preferences set in iTunes. You can, for example, enter phone numbers and addresses of friends and family members on your computer, connect iPhone or iPod touch to sync, then unplug iPhone or iPod touch and tap a friend's name on the touchscreen to call. APPS are also auto synced!

You use iTunes on your computer to set up which items are synced. Make sure you have the most recent version of iTunes (On a PC, open iTunes and choose Help %26gt; Check for Updates. On a Mac, open iTunes and choose iTunes %26gt; Check for Updates.)

Step 1: Connect iPhone or iPod touch

1. Connect iPhone or iPod touch to your computer using the included cable. You can connect the cable from your computer directly to iPhone or iPod touch, or connect the cable from your computer to the Apple Universal Dock (available separately) and put iPhone or iPod touch in the dock. By default, iTunes opens automatically.

2. Select iPhone or iPod touch in iTunes under Devices on the left hand side and click the Info tab.

Step 2: Set Up Which Items Are Synced

Click the respective tabs in iTunes to specify which media and information you want synced from your computer to iPhone or iPod touch.

For more information about syncing iPhone with your computer see the iPhone User's Guide:

On your computer: Click here to see a version of the User Guide content in your web browser. Click here to download and view a PDF of the iPhone User Guide.

On iPhone: Tap Safari and view http://help.apple.com/iphone/guide/.

For more information about syncing iPod touch with your computer:

On your computer, click here to download and view a PDF of the iPod touch User Guide.

On iPod touch: Tap Safari and view http://help.apple.com/ipodtouch/guide/.

Step 3: Sync iPhone or iPod touch

Click Apply in the lower-right corner of the screen. Your computer syncs with iPhone or iPod touch according to your settings.

The first time you sync iPhone or iPod touch, you are asked if you want to merge data, replace data on the service, or replace the data on your computer. After that, anytime you connect iPhone or iPod touch to your computer, iTunes opens and syncs with iPhone or iPod touch according to your settings.

You can adjust sync settings anytime iPhone or iPod touch is connected to your computer. You can only connect and sync with one iPhone or iPod touch at the same time. If you need to sync more than one iPhone or iPod touch, disconnect one before connecting the other. How do I put iPod touch apps into my Library?

As long as your songs/videos are still on your iPod, you can use an iPod transfer program to help you get them back to your iTunes.

Simply use an iPod transfer program to help you, like this handy one called Tansee iPod Transfer http://www.gutensoft.com/Utilities/Tanse鈥?/a>

Many of my friends are using it for its easy and safe transfer.

With just a few simple clicks, it will help you transfer all songs/videos from iPod to your selected folder on your computer, and then you can easily add those files back to iTunes.

More importantly, this won't overwrite any original files on your iPod. And all song titles are preserved.
You can use an ipod to computer transfer program to help. I personally use Cucusoft iPhone/iTouch/iPod to Computer Transfer. It helps me to transfer my songs/videos/photos from ipod to computer directly and safety. It works well for me,you can give it a try.

How do I tell my iTunes that my library is located elsewhere (i.e., external drive)?

  • Why would anyone bring a baby to the library?

I'm at the library right now listening to a baby cry. Any reason I shouldn't go offer some child-care tips to the person who brought the baby?|||I love babies and there are often times when I hear a baby crying and i wonder if the parent(s) would like me to "help" but most often I just feel like it's not really my place to offer -- unless there's some obvious problem or need. If you are just annoyed that the baby is there -- oh well! I hope for everyone's sake that the baby stops crying soon and feels better. I don't know how old the baby is -- but perhaps the parents wanted to go to the library and didn't want to leave the baby home and assumed the baby would only minimally bother people. Or if the baby is older, perhaps they want to read to the baby!|||Maybe they have no choice!

Movies...no...but see people who do and don't mind if they can keep them quiet but that's a different situation. The movie lasts 2 hours and you don't want to waste your money and take the chance...in a library...you're in there for something and can leave at any time.|||You shouldn't because it isn't any of your business. That may be a single mother who's struggling her way through college so she can provide a better future for her child and uncompromising people like you may just sabatoge her struggle enough that she gives up.

Some people don't have childcare at the tips of their fingers.|||well they probably need a book but if it was me, i might take my baby with me to the library

but i would be considerate enough to walk outside with her if she started crying.|||Not unless the child-care advice includes your watching her tot while she peruses the library.

Babies cry. It'll stop when mommy fixes whatever is wrong.

    Edit:

Emotional Reactions??? Hmmm...consider where you posted this question...and then rethink that remark.

I had brought our baby to the movies as a newborn- I nursed her in her sling and she was perfectly content and happy for the entire movie...but, you'd probably not like nursing in public either.|||Moms need to go to the library too... I take both my kids with me.... a 3 yr old and a 5 month old. My 3 yr old gets books... and I look at them. I have no choice but to take them. Be a little considerate. Babies are everywhere.. we can't just NOT take them places b/c we're worried about other people... Get used to it.

If we WANTED to bring our babies to the movies, we could.. it's not off limits to us. I personally do not. But it doesn't bother me when people do. We're not going to stop doing things we love just because we have children.|||Im sure the staff would say something if the crying was getting out of control.

Be polite, and ignore it.|||youre at the public library, right? besides, libraries offer story groups for babies so get a headset|||What a jerk! I had to bring my baby to the library when I was going to school..sometimes we are just doing the best we can. How about being apathetic and grow up!|||DO NOT offer child care tips to a mother with a screaming child in public. she is probly at the library trying to research how to help her sick/crying/whatever baby and you coming up WILL NOT help.|||do you realise how expensive childcare can be??? and plus you can't be concentrating too much if you're on YA???|||there are ppl who don't have anyone to help or who can't afford day care (it's extremely expensive nowadays) and they need to do some research and have no choice. have a little compassion, i'm pretty sure when u were a baby some ppl might have given ur mother those kinda looks.|||well who cares it probally is very annoying but you don't know why that person has the baby there with her???maybe the person really needs to study and couldn't find a babysitter??

don't go say anything to them it would be rude unless you know the situation!|||be nice i like babies|||Because some people like me are stay at home moms, I have no one to watch my son until 6:30 when my partner gets home, so if I need to go places sometimes my son has to go with me, yes if my son was crying I would deffinately take him out because libraries are quiet places. But theres nothing wrong with taking a baby to the library and some women have no other choice. No you dont go offer child care tips, I'm sure she knows how to take care pfher child just fine. She doesn't need someone like you to help her!|||if someone dared to offer me baby care tips just because my baby was crying i would be pissed and probably go off on them. im sure that is true with most mothers out there. she is there because she needs some sort of information and i applaud her for going to the library, with her baby, and finding her answers.|||I know it's a tough one, but if you talk in a library then you are asked to quiet down.

The person really should leave and calm the baby down then return, I've had to do this at weddings and birthdays.

It's only fair to the other people|||Since when did mothers run library's??? They don't. Complain!

Actually my library has signs up about children. If your child is making a racket you are asked to leave.

I recently took my 6 month old %26amp; 3yo boys to the library. My 6 month old started shrieking. I was so embarrassed. I sat down and feed him. He was settled within 2 minutes.

It is called MANNERS, if your child cried, pick it up and settle it. If it continues take it out of the library. No mother has the right to have her child scream in a library. They are quiet for a reason. Just because you have a child, DOESN'T make you above the rules.

I can't believe some of these answers. Some people need a reality check. Just because your world revolves around your child, doesn't mean everyone else needs to hear it scream.

I would have said something %26amp; I am a mother of 3! You don't need child care to visit a library, just common sense parenting.|||It's better than not going because they didn't have a babysitter. It is pretty rude, though...but you can't control a baby crying. But I guess that's what happens when you have a baby when you're fifteen...|||I wonder the same thing. The librarians would not hesitate to shush someone who is talking or whose cell phone rings, but let a baby scream and everyone is afraid to say something... why? Because babies are off-limits when it comes to criticism. Yes, you DO have a choice, don't go to the library when the kid is awake if it's going to disturb others. What do you do with the kid when you're in class? Take it with you? I bet not. Leave it with the same person you leave it with when you're in class. Wait until nap time. Check the books out that you need and leave, go to the park, take them home. Just because it's your little precious baboo doesn't mean everyone else wants to hear it.|||Lots of people don't leave their babies. I agree with you, however, that the library shouldn't be the place they visit.

Is there a way to transfer an Itunes library from one computer to another?

The original computer does not have a CD re-writer so I can't just back the library up to a disk then transfer it. Is there a way to transfer an Itunes library from one computer to another?
I am using an iTunes backup program. It is a full solution when you want to backup your iTunes and transfer the whole iTunes library from one computer to another.

I especially like its one-click mode. Slick.

And more importantly, it enables complete transfer.

You can give it a try. Hope this helps you.Is there a way to transfer an Itunes library from one computer to another?
You can copy all the files to a USB stick, and then copy them from that to the seconds computer (this will take quite a while if you have a lot of songs - i did this with about 800). You will only lose songs if a) they aren't copied to the USB or b) the USB is unplugged during transfer, which will corrupt the files. If there are a -lot- of songs, you may need to do a sort of relay - copy a batch, clear the USB off, then copy the next batch.

Or, if the computers are networked, you can copy the files across the network i.e. copy from computer 1 and paste in a file on computer 2.Is there a way to transfer an Itunes library from one computer to another?
Could you use a USB port to transfer all of the songs to a USB stick and then transfer them to another computer... thats what I did.. but I still ended up loosing a lot of songs. Good Luck!!

Don't auto sync because ipod can only sync with one computer itunes or the ipod files will be erased.

itunes blocks this function since itunes is the tool with one way to transfer files from itune to ipod. you must utilize other tools to achieve that. There're couple of tools for transferring the files between ipod and computer (for backup)depends on your demands, e.g transfer only songs/videos, transfer photos etc. You can have a look of below review site, hope it useful.
